More About Sheri

Sheri is a certified professional photographer(click here to learn more about what that means), who specializes in family, and executive portraiture. She takes immense joy in the service of creating art celebrating the unique stories that each person has to tell.

Sheri Van Wert Photography officially opened in 2007. Prior to that she studied photography in college and mentored under other photographers. Currently she is a proud member of Professional Photographers of America.

Most of the families Sheri serves first hired her when they were expecting their first child, and  come back to her year after year as their families growing and change. 

Sheri Van Wert Photography is located in the woods, in a quiet little town called Foresthill, CA nestled a top a ridge in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Sessions up here in the forest are always fun, but she does travel within all of western Placer County for sessions. Sessions in other locations in California are available to book as well. 

 

Approach & Team

Photography is more than just a passion for Sheri, it is a serious artistic craft. She strives to ensure the process of creating heirloom imagery for individuals and families, is collaborative, high quality, fun, and as stress-free as possible.

Sheri's team consists of herself plus a highly trained professional retoucher, Karen Romero. Sheri's knowledge of how to control light, and how to pose you to look your best is combined with Karen’s expertise and attention to detail in finishing the image. This results in high-quality, beautifully crafted prints and products to be treasured for many years to come.

When Sheri is not working with people, she is off journeying into the wilderness to try to convey the beauty, stillness and serenity found there using her camera. Sheri am married to an amazing man named Jeremy, and they have 1 “fur-kid”…a Chiweenie named Jazzy and she’s a darling!
